Our Love for South Africa and Marloth Park

Our fascination with South Africa began in 2003, when we first visited the country and experienced the magic of Kruger National Park. That journey left an unforgettable impression on us. The vast wilderness, the incredible wildlife, and the unique atmosphere touched us deeply, and ever since, South Africa has had a special place in our hearts.

In 2011, we returned—this time as a family with two young children, aged 3 and 1.5 years. During that trip, we discovered Marloth Park, a remarkable residential and nature reserve bordering the Kruger. It’s a place where people and wildlife live in harmony. We rented a house there for three weeks and went on unforgettable outings in the surrounding area. That trip marked the start of a tradition: we’ve been trying to return to South Africa regularly ever since, always staying in Marloth Park.

In 2022, we stayed at Treetops for the first time—a stunning house nestled in the bush. What made it so special for us was the unique experience of sleeping in a bedroom with mesh-covered windows, allowing us to hear the sounds of the bush all night long. The peace and privacy, with no direct neighbors and bush all around the house, meant that wildlife passed by often—both during the day and in the evening. It felt like living in a wildlife paradise, with all the comforts of home.

In 2024, we learned from Marja and Simon that they were planning to sell Treetops. For us, it was the perfect opportunity to deepen our connection with Marloth Park. Today, we’re proud to be the owners of this amazing house and look forward to many more years of enjoying the nature, serenity, and magic that Marloth Park has to offer.
